Windows 8.1 - what's new?
Windows Blue is not an ordinary update at all. And it's not even a Service Pack. According to preliminary data, the new system will be called Windows 8.1, which says a lot. There will be really a lot of changes in it. Here are the main ones:
Windows 8.1 is the commercial name of the system;
new shape of tiles on the start screen;
simpler and more flexible start screen customization;
a lot of settings have been moved to the Modern UI (Metro);
the upgraded Snap function, which supports split screen into 3 and 4 parts (depends on the resolution);
Metro applications Alarm clock, Calculator, Voice recorder, possibly a video editor;
new functions for sorting applications;
automatic updating of Metro apps;
Internet Explorer 11 browser with WebGL support;
integration with SkyDrive at the system level;
Windows Explorer now displays the My Documents, My Pictures, My Music and My Videos folders by default;
function of turning off the system SlideToShutdown;
