The Long Dark is a thoughtful survival and exploration game where players will have to make their own decisions as they navigate a vast, cold wilderness that has survived a geomagnetic disaster. There are no zombies in it - only you, the cold and what Mother Nature has prepared for you.
WINTERMUTE, part of The Long Dark's first storyline season, has two episodes out of five. In the December 2018 Redux update, we radically redesigned both episodes: we changed the mission system, rewritten the plot, dialogues, animation - and more.
⭐ EPISODE 1. "Don't Go Humbly"
Long-distance pilot Will Mackenzie (player character) and Dr. Astrid Greenwood are separated when their plane crashes in the wilds of northern Canada due to a mysterious flash of light. Desperate to survive and find Astrid, Mackenzie comes to the town of Milton, where he begins to realize the scale of this silent disaster.
⭐ EPISODE 2. "Light Fugue"
Mackenzie's search for Astrid takes him deep into the snow-covered wilderness. Perhaps the mysterious hunter will be able to help him, but can he be trusted?
The first two episodes of WINTERMUTE take about 15 game hours. The next three episodes are included in the game price and will be unlocked for free when released.
The characters are voiced by Jennifer Hale, Mark Mir, David Hayter and Elias Toufexis (episode XNUMX). The music was written by Chris Velasco.
