Task 2
The main task of the manager is to maximize the profit received by the company. At the same time, the social responsibility of the manager to society, his concrete actions that ensure the solution of social problems facing the country are acquiring more and more importance.
In this regard, there are two positions. Supporters of one position believe that social problems should be solved by the state, and business should only “make money”. They justify their position by the fact that social areas lead to a decrease in the company's profits, a deterioration in its competitiveness, an increase in costs, which subsequently lead to an increase in prices (harming consumers) and other negative consequences.
Supporters of a different position believe that businessmen have moral obligations to society, and the actions they take to help solve social problems can be of great benefit to entrepreneurs, improve their image in society and be good advertising.
Questions:
1. Whose position do you share and why?
2. Should, in your opinion, an entrepreneur in modern Russia fulfill social obligations to the country and in what forms?
3. Will it ultimately be beneficial for him (including financially)? If profitable, why?
4. In what forms can social support be provided by Russian business:
- company-wide
- on a regional or national scale?

Task 3

Despite the great potential of the Russian market, foreign entrepreneurs are very cautious when it comes to business development in our country. Among the many shortcomings characteristic of the Russian market, there is either a complete absence or low qualifications of Russian managers.
The stay of Western managers (organization and management professionals) is very expensive for foreign companies operating in Russia. In addition, the presence of foreign specialists in joint ventures often leads to conflicts between them and Russian personnel, who believe that the former have incomparably higher wages.
Against this background, the results of the analysis of the activities of several dozen joint ventures in Russia, carried out by the staff of the Harvard Business School in the USA, look unusual. Briefly, the essence of their conclusions is as follows:

Advantages Disadvantages
