Several types of competitions have appeared in the game (“betting” in career mode), during which the player needs to get away from the police for a certain time or hold out for a certain time with the police on their tail, and then hide, ram a certain number of police cars, inflict damage for a certain amount state, go around a certain number of barriers or tapes with spikes. In addition, new types of races have appeared, such as a stopwatch and a fighter, but unlike Need for Speed: Underground 2, there is no drifting in the game. It also became possible to accelerate time (eng. Speedbreaker), which slows down time and allows you to assess the situation and make a decision in an unforeseen situation (for example, you can evade a police jeep that unexpectedly took off from behind a turn)[19].
