Dota started out as a custom mod for Warcraft 3 and has grown to become one of the most popular online games in the world. Following the tradition of Counter-Strike, Day of Defeat, Team Fortress, Portal and Alien Swarm, Dota 2 came about by hiring Valve developers from the community who created the game modification and giving them the opportunity, together with a professional team of developers and artists from Valve, to turn their ideas into a complete game.
Describing the gameplay of this game is not an easy task. The game camera provides the player with a view from the perspective that is familiar to RTS, however, it would be wrong to classify Dota as a game of this genre. And although each hero begins his journey from the first level, and repeatedly reaches the threshold of 25, it would be equally wrong to attribute the game to the genre of role-playing games.
