Additional Information
A Way Out is a third-person action-adventure video game. The game is designed for multiplayer, split-screen support, which means you need to play with another person over a local network or online in order to play. As the game progresses, you have to control Leo and Vincent, two convicted prisoners who must break out of prison and escape from the authorities. Since the story of both main characters is communicated simultaneously, their progress cannot be synchronized, which could result in one player being able to control their character while the other watches a cut-scene at the same time. Players must cooperate with each other to move forward, and each situation can be approached differently, with both characters playing different roles. For example, during a prison break scene, one player needs to distract a guard, while the other player needs to find a tool to facilitate the escape. These roles are not fixed, so Leo and Vincent can change their roles in another playthrough. Players can interact with many non-playable characters, and there are dialogue options for players.
