Class 67 was initially used to carry mail until the end of its contract with Royal Mail in 2003, and was then used for a variety of functions. Since 2004, Class 67 has been the locomotive for the Royal Train, with the pair being repainted in Royal Claret livery especially for this purpose. In 2012, Class 67 number 67 026 was renamed "Diamond Jubilee" and received a special commemorative silver livery to mark the Queen's 60th year on the throne.
