Description
This is a collection of Orthodox prayers of a special genre - akathist. This genre originated in Byzantium in the 9th century, during the siege of Constantinople, as an intense prayer for help. The believers, having gathered in the temple, asked the Mother of God to deliver them from the captivity of the barbarians.
