Description
The AS50 is a large-caliber long-range sniper rifle developed in 2005 by the British company Accuracy International Ltd. The rifle is intended for use by special army units, and is used to destroy both single enemy targets and unarmored or lightly armored combat vehicles.
The AS50 is a self-loading rifle, and uses a gas-operated automatic, with a gas piston located above the barrel, and locking by tilting the bolt downward. The massive barrel is equipped with a muzzle brake. Along the entire upper surface of the receiver and the forend, there is a "Picatinny rail" rail for mounting various optical and night sights. Two additional short guides are made on the sides of the fore-end; laser designators or other accessories can be attached to them.
