Description
Auto Assault-12 (AA-12) automatic smoothbore shotgun, developed in the early 70s in the USA by designer Maxwell Atchisson. The shotgun was based on an earlier development "Atchisson Assault Shotgun". A rifle with colossal firepower, albeit a low rate of fire, was invented during the Vietnam War era, since it assumed abundant filling of all kinds of bushes and thickets in the jungle where opponents were hiding with shot and buckshot. Atchisson himself was not a weapons manufacturer, and in the mid-2000s, the American Military Police System acquired the rights to the AA-12, hoping to begin production for the US police and military. Also, using Atchisson's ideas, the USAS-12 automatic gun was developed in South Korea.
