Driver: San Francisco returned to the roots of the series, when you couldn't get out of the car, and the basis of the gameplay was not GTA-style shootouts (shame on you, Driver 3), but exciting chases and performing various stunts. This is the only way the new part of the game will live – racing through San Francisco, recreated with historical accuracy. No walking or painful gunfights.

And to make the racing seem even more realistic, more than 120 existing and very real cars were licensed specifically for Driver: San Francisco. Among them there are cars from Aston Martin, Porsche, Dodge and even Delorean. In short, motorists will be very pleased with the list of available cars.

The events of the sequel start a few months after the credits rolled in Driver 3. Tanner is in a coma and, apparently, is in no hurry to get out of it. But the desire to get even with crime boss Charles Jericho is still running through his head.

All the events of Driver: San Francisco take place in the head of Tanner, lying in a hospital room. But at the same time, they are partly real, since people who have fallen into a coma perceive information from the outside world and interpret it in their own way. It's a bit tricky, but the good news is that Tanner will remain an undercover cop in his dreams.

By the way, one of the main features of Driver: San Francisco is connected with coma - the ability to “move” into other cars. To do this, however, you will first have to fill out a special bar called Shift, performing stunts and demonstrating your driving skills. And then we look around the city from a bird’s eye view, find the necessary iron friend and take over the driver there. Since everything that happens around is a figment of the imagination, it will seem to Tanner that he has some kind of superpower. As the story progresses, it will “pump up” on its own, and over time we will be able to survey the whole of San Francisco at once.
