Darksiders is a slasher game with adventure elements in which the player takes control of the main character, the horseman of the Apocalypse named War. From a third-person perspective, the player engages in battles, solves riddles and explores the world. The game mechanics evoke direct associations with the Legacy of Kain series (especially Legacy of Kain: Defiance).
