The game consists of stages, with puzzles at each stage and story cutscenes in between. The game has an automatic save function at every stage, so if you fall through a puzzle, you can try again by clicking the continue button.
Each stage will have a trial phase and a combat phase. During the trial stage, the player will be given a puzzle that can only be solved by reflection, no calculation. In the next phase, which is the battle phase, the player will have a match against the AI. Battles require concentration and patience.
Calculated is the late development of the Burning Fanfish and releases back to the basics of the game.
