The game's plot begins immediately after the end of the events of Revelations. Having reached America, at the same time preventing a riot on the ship and "throwing off the tail", Haytham arrives in Boston. First, he must find five people who can help him: Charles Lee, William Johnson, Thomas Hickey, Benjamin Church and Jonathan Pitcairn. Finding these people, they kill a slave trader named Silas Thatcher and free groups of American Indian slaves belonging to the Mohawk tribe. One of these Mohawks, Gazidzio (or Gio), agrees to help Haytem on the condition that he kills General Edward "Bulldog" Braddock. After tracking his movements, Haytham kills Braddock as he retreats to Fort Duquesne. Haytem and Gajidzio travel to the Great Temple, but Haytem is disappointed that the medallion does not open the door. At this point, the couple reveal their romantic intentions for each other, and shortly thereafter, Charles Lee and Haytham return to Boston, where Kenway initiates Lee into the Knights Templar.
