Al-Ajurrumiya has been considered one of the most famous textbooks on Arabic grammar for many centuries. It is said that Ibn Ajurrum compiled the book Muqaddimatu [al-Ajurrumiya] (Introduction [to the science of the syntax of al-Ajurrumiya]), sitting in front of the sacred Kaaba. After writing his work, he wanted to check whether the textbook would be accepted by Allah Almighty. To do this, he threw the manuscript into the Red Sea, but it did not drown or even get wet. It was a sign to ibn Ajurrum that Allah accepts work. Whether this story is true or not, we can only speculate, but there is another sure sign of Allah's acceptance of his work in the incredible popularity that this book has received throughout the Muslim world. Without exaggeration, it can be argued that no other textbook on the syntax of the Arabic language in the entire history of the existence of Islamic civilization has received such wide distribution among beginners and detailed commentary from connoisseurs of the Arabic language as Al-Ajurrumiya.
