A Way Out is a split-screen adventure game for two players. The creators managed to implement a unique mechanic on two screens, when both characters live their own lives, interacting with other characters in the game world. At the same time, the second screen never freezes. While someone is talking to the guard, the second character can overhear them or perform any other action.
Initially, we are thrown into a federal prison. The main characters were two men who, through no fault of their own, were imprisoned and are now eager to be released. They are neither friends nor brothers - at least at the beginning of the story. Initially, the prisoners felt hatred for each other, and only then they realized that they were bound by a common goal - to get out of prison. And this requires a second player, because you should not expect success alone.
During the passage, the players will have to engage in a detailed study of the prison plan, the habits of the guards and their schedules, the duty schedule. To put it simply, you will have to learn every yard of the prison and think over several retreat moves. The important thing is that the main characters are pacifists and you cannot kill other characters, you are only allowed to intimidate. Each of the prisoners behind bars has their own life, from which they were torn away.
In general, A Way Out is very reminiscent of a movie, and with a high quality shot. First, the plot is very similar to what we could see in The Shawshank Redemption. Secondly, the very presentation of the plot and cut-scenes turns them into a small episode from a movie with high-quality computer graphics.
